Wrapper Free Lunch Wednesdays
Dear Parents
We are promoting litter free days at school. So we have decided that we want no wrappers in our lunch boxes very Wednesday.
Please can you pack our morning tea and lunches free of wrapped food.
Thanks

Halloween Poetry
On Thursdays we love to write poems.
Our latest poem was about Halloween.
We collected our ideas together by brainstorming and wrote them all on a chart and then we looked at the suitable phrase or short sentences to put together into a poem.
Here is our poem.
Halloween
Halloween is scary
Halloween creatures are terrifying
Vampires with bad breath and fangs
Witches with spells that go whizz
Scary witches on broomsticks
Zombies out of graves
Zombies scare people
Bats fly in the moonlight
Jack 'o Lantern light the sky
Were wolves howl
Children scream
It's Halloween

Book Week
Margaret Mahy Book Week
Last week we celebrated Margaret Mahy. We had lots of activities to do. Authors came to share their work and read to us, our teachers read to different classes and at the end we had a book week parade.
For our parade we choose characters from one of Margaret Mahy's books. It was a great time and we had lots of fun finding dressing up things.
So thank you parents for helping us. Sid got the first prize and Jamie was runner up.

Book Week This Week
Dear Parents,
It is week four and we are celebrating Margaret Mahy on Friday.
We are having a dress up day and coming to school as a character out of one of Margaret Mahy stories.
Can you please help put together a costume for this day?
Thanks
Vanita Chandra, Class teacher

Room 4 went to the museum.
It was awesome said Jess.
The loved the shaking house best of all- Stanislas
The was cool when it shook and the crash was awesome and the lights were about to turn off - Sid
It was scary. It was very exciting when the ash hit the house - Keshav
We learned how to drill holes in the wood. We had to wrap the rope around the stick and then pull out and in, out and in.
This was the bird catcher tool. The stick was like a little branch and the Maoris covered it with leaves to trick the bird. The bird would sit on the branch and the bird catcher would pull the string and catch the bird.
It was awesome said Jess.

We are finishing off with a haka. |
Keshav's mummy is showing us how to wrap the rope. |
